Bettair and Ateknea speak at MAPAMA’s air quality event

As one of the leading air quality sensor technologies in the market today, Bettair Cities and Ateknea were invited to take part in an event, organised by MAPAMA (the Spanish ministry for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment), specifically dedicated to discussing the current state-of-development of low-cost sensors for air quality and their possible applications in today’s society.

Over the past ten years, significant progress has been made in the field of low-cost air quality sensors, but limitations in terms of accuracy and the ability for measurement in real-time on a mass scale have stood in the way of any low-cost, high-performing air quality sensor taking the place of the reference equipment currently used for legislative purposes relating to air quality.

This will not be the case for long.

The Spanish academic-scientific and administrative-technical communities in the field decided the moment had come to organize an event: a day of information and debate on the use of and applications for low-cost sensors in today’s society. The leading companies providing these types of sensors and networks, including Bettair and Ateknea, were invited to present their products and applications, and to discuss the current situation with air quality experts from different administrations, universities, and research centres. They covered the following topics:

  • Integrated products and systems (sensor networks, data presentation software and associated air quality mapping), accuracy, precision, sensitivity, errors, and prices, (advantages, and limitations).
  • The main applications which low cost, high tech sensors can contribute in terms of air quality management.

Undoubtedly, it was an excellent opportunity for Bettair Cities to explain how its novel smart city technology provides a highly efficient and large-scale pollution-mapping tool for big cities.

Bettair Cities to appear at the Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 thanks to FrontierCities2 (fC2 – FIWARE)

With the support of frontierCities2 (fC2)Bettair Cities will be one of the SMEs and startups to take the stage at the event, introducing their innovative smart city technology that maps urban air quality on a large scale to the attendees.

As a part of one of the SMEs and start-ups to be present at this event, Bettair Cities, will be one of the SMEs supported by frontierCities2 (fC2) to introduce to the attendees an innovative smart city technology to map urban air quality on a big scale.

The frontierCities2 (fC2) represents a significant step up in the scope, ambition, and service of the Acceleration & Incubation process for FIWARE SMEs and Start-ups.

In the framework of Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018, the fC2 start-ups will be involved in the 1st edition of ITSUP, , a new event for Smart Mobility Start-Ups and are also set to participate in a series of roundtables organised by H3BMedia.

The main objective of Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 will be to discuss solutions in different categories related to the traffic and mobility industries. The traffic industry is undergoing major changes and developments are on a fast track. As a result there is extremely high demand to know about all the latest trends related to infrastructure, traffic management, smart mobility, safety, and parking.

The event will take place from March 2023 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
